Tag! You’re it!

Today I am tagging you to play along with us for the latest Retro Rubber Blog Challenge. The current challenge is none other than “Tag, You’re it!” All you have to do is make a project or card using a tag; it’s that easy 🙂  All we ask is that you use a stamp set that is older than 1 year.

I used 3 older but current stamps on today’s card.

Tips, Tricks, and Insights:

  • Faux Patina Technique – A year ago I posted a card that uses the technique found on the background of my card. It’s truly easy to do. I found this technique through Splitcoast Stampers. You can find a tutorial on the faux patina technique here. If you’d like to see my original card, you can click here.
  • Two-step Stamping – Two of the stamp sets used to make my tag are “two-step stamp sets”. What this means is that you can use two [or more] images from that set to create your image. Two step stamp sets make it so easy to create beautiful images and are great when you are short on time and don’t have time for coloring. I wanted to make the flower image from Stippled Blossoms and the butterfly image from Papillon Potpourri to be slightly lighter than the sentiment. Therefore, I applied ink to the solid flower, leaf, and butterfly images but stamped off 2 times before stamping onto my card stock. Then, the outline images were stamped off once before layering those images on top of their bases.
  • A little bling for the wings – I accessorized the butterfly with a little bling using the Silver Sparkling Dazzle Details liquid glue. The same bling was added to the center of the flower.
